Recent studies of campus violence highlight the general failure of campus security systems to warn and prepare students of impending danger. Many lives could have been saved if the universities had a public notification system to warn surrounding students of the danger.

Furthermore, it safeguards an institution’s reputation which can be damaged or completely displaced by one single embarrassing or mismanaged event. Avatar Unit
AvatarSM Units are a communications portal to information and security. An industrialized version of the innovative 360° LED video display, outdoor and indoor models are available. A range of different sizes are available, each providing 360° viewing for maximum visibility. A ceiling mounted version is also available.
Discrete camera placement, mounted within the unit, can provide close proximity video coverage of busy public spaces while maintaining a friendly atmosphere.
AvatarSM can broadcast immediate, time-sensitive warnings to an entire campus. Public notification regarding physical, natural, chemical or biological incidents can be broadcast through the early-warning system. Units can be upgraded to include voice activation and speech recognition to assist the disabled.
Holistic Security Convergence
Existing campus security systems are typically comprised of disparate controls, each requiring additional personnel hours to monitor and manage. Security Convergence provides effective incident response and management utilizing clear public notification alerts.
AvatarSM combines security and information services with existing access controls and on-campus databases, providing comprehensive security convergence. Through integration with campus databases, notifications can be sent out regarding all manner of activity, including class cancellation or emergency notification.AvatarSM databases incorporate open sourcing, allowing for integration with third-party service providers.
SpartaMatrix™ will undertake a thorough analysis of current best practices, including items such as visitor sign on schemes. A security risk assessment will be conducted through third-party security audit specialists. Recommendations will be presented for approval and implementation. AvatarSM manages the integration of all existing physical security controls through the Mitigation and Prevention Center technology.

A secure intranet website provides access for authorized personnel including campus security and technology services.
The Mitigation and Prevention Center is the core of intra-campus communication and safety. It provides access to appropriate controls, alarm systems, closed-circuit TV (CCTV) and public notification systems. In addition, SpartaMatrix™ will provide multi-channel personal communication devices (PDAs, Mobile Phone, etc…) to security personnel.
The MPC Dashboard merges security and information services with existing access controls and on-campus databases, providing comprehensive security convergence. Through integration with student databases, notifications can be sent out regarding all manner of activity including class cancellation or emergency notification. AvatarSM databases are open source, allowing for integration with third-party service providers. This enables accurate real-time information to be relayed to key personnel effectively (i.e., emergency services and other first response groups).
