SmartTag
Overview
RFID Technology is the wave of the future. RFID is the abbreviation for radio frequency identification commonly used for automatic tracking and data collection. At SpartaMatrix™, we design and install customized systems that use the latest hierarchical RFID processes.
SmartTag® consists of two basic parts; a transmitter and a chip with a micro antenna. We use a specialized I-Code RFID chip where information can be stored electronically and later recalled. This chip is electronically encoded with a unique key number together with information documenting the contents, the source wholesaler, total number of units and any other information deemed necessary. Information on these chips can be read by hand held devices that recognize these unique chips and therefore identify each item carrying the chips. This therefore allows all items to be tracked along the entire shipment process.

SmartTag® is available in two formats, passive and active. Passive tags generates power from the tiny current conducted when the antenna receives a radio signal; active tags require an external power source but have much greater range and data capacity.
Passive tags hold less data and have a much smaller range, however:
- Mass production makes them relatively cheap
- Much smaller size
- More secure
SpartaMatrix™ is able to use its expertise in RFID technology to integrate the tracking of the entire shipment and delivery process using its SmartTag® technology.
Once we determine the customers requirements, we will be able to customize and recommend a system which will fit their needs.
